Show me pictures of your car getting towed. This happened today. The ebrake won’t disengage and I can’t fix it while I’m at school.

all you need to do is carry a hammer to fix shit like this usually. I never travel without one

I’ll have to dig, but the last time I had to have it towed was when the fuse panel on top of the battery in my MkIV GTI caught fire and burned itself out (fortunately?).

Knock on wood, my car hasn’t been towed yet. Although my Grandma sure has thought about it.

Never got towed, it’s a Honda.
I keed. I keed. Still never been towed though.

Only time my cars have been towed, they were on their way to the scrap heap.

I was about to make a similar comment but figured knocking on wood wasn’t enough to warrant tempting fate that much. 22 year old BMW and a 15 year old jeep.

mkay. melted timing belt off to my mechanic she goes.
and I brought her home from the mechanic after deciding to do an engine swap myself instead of having the mechanic fix the timing belt.
a tight fit on a friend’s ATV trailer

Congrats on the marraige
![]() 04/27/2015 at 12:48 |

yeah, but you can fix that with a hammer and some rtv, right? No need for a tow.

At this point I want it to get fixed so I don’t have to worry about it when I’m trying to leave school after finishing finals next week.

Oh gosh I was kidding. HALP.

in what way did it go kaboom?
![]() 04/27/2015 at 12:50 |

I dunno, man. I have all kinds of weird tech and high mileage (computer-controlled carb, 2.21 gearing, 160,000 miles, computer-controlled HEI, etc)
![]() 04/27/2015 at 12:50 |

Ignition went out. SLKs got it fixed, Crossfires did not.
![]() 04/27/2015 at 12:50 |

did you put the same kind of engine back in or upgrade?
![]() 04/27/2015 at 12:52 |

timing chain jumped a guide rail and everything kinda snowballed from there, valves, springs, heads..... at first he was going to rebuild and after a few weeks of who knows what probably tuggin his junk in the back room, he finaly decides to tell me hes going to need a replacement engine, which took another few weeks. i think the whole shit show lasted about 3 months

wow what a mess

I could be pulling this out of my ass but I feel like I read somewhere the Miata is the most reliable car Mazda ever made.

a legitimate carburetor actuated via computer? That sounds like a horrible idea.

They then dropped it in the middle of the road. I was very pissed.
Then it went to a different shop:

Yep, the Golf needed a towing when the gearbox threw second gear. No pictures though.

So far, so good. It’s the missing link between carburation and TBI

nope, direct replacement, just with many shiny new bits

I can see that. It’s not very high-tech, and all mechanical.

The last car to ever be towed at the house was the Vue because of a dealer tech fuck up (on a brand new car >_<) back in 2008, and it was on vacation in Florida, and I was 10, so no pictures of that.
